UPDATE : 19 October 2009
The permanent secretary for the Interior Ministry has held a meeting with responsible agencies to follow up on the progress in the preparations for the upcoming ASEAN Summit.

The meeting was focused on security measures to ensure safety for leaders of the countries participating in the 15th ASEAN Summit after the Internal Security Act was imposed in Hua Hin and Cha-am districts since last Friday.

Interior Ministry Permanent Secretary Manit Wattanasane revealed that preparations are going on smoothly and noted that members of the joint special force from the Army, Navy, and Air force have been assigned to give protection to the summit delegations under the government's policies.

Manit added that military personnel and administrative officials will jointly ensure tight security throughout the summit.
