Thai TV Station Sells Goods to Survive

Like many countries, entertainment programs such as soap operas dominate the airwaves of free television channels in Thailand and serves as the milking cash cow in keeping stations running. But as Thailand continues to struggle with the concept of democracy and how it fits into the life of the kingdom, media has changed accordingly. One such media is ASTV network: a station that was the key to the success of the People’s Alliance for Democracy or PAD’s controversial and historical rallies.
