It turns out the weapon smugglers' flight plan was more complicated and involved with more countries than officials originally thought.

Officials have revealed that the weapon smugglers who were apprehended in Bangkok flew from Azerbaijan in the Caucasus region in Eurasia on December 9 before making a stop in Alfujara, the United Arab Emirates on the same day.

The flight also made a stop in Bangkok once on December 10 before continuing to North Korea to pick up the 40 tons of weapons.

The plane was apprehended while refueling at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok on December 11.

According to the flight plan, the plane was planning to fly to Sri Lanka and back to the United Arab Emirates once it had been refueled. The plane was planning to make one more stop in Kiev, Ukraine before flying to Iran to deliver the weapons.

From the complicated flight plan, it's apparent that more countries were involved in the weapon smuggling flight than originally thought. Many countries mentioned in the flight plan are known to posses nuclear weapons or have been listed by the international community as rogue states.

The weapon trading firm involved with the flight also had a front company in Hong Kong where financial transactions could easily be made.

The officials believe the plane was not apprehended when it was in Bangkok the first time because there were no weapons on board.

The investigation team has not yet arrived to a conclusion of why the plane had such a complicated flight plan and how those countries were involved.
